NecroVisioN: Lost Company is the prequel to the primary horror FPS shooter, which covers the events before the NecroVisioN story began. The new main hero tells the original game story from the opposing perspective. There are new unique levels, characters, weapons, and gameplay elements including evil forces unleashed by the war. You act as one of the WWI German soldiers that discovers these wicked forces and attempts to fight against them. Ultimately, you will lead soldiers from every nation through battles against massive zombies and demons. If you are successful, you will become the first Necromancer that will fight against Simon Bukner in NecroVisioN.

NecroVisioN: Lost Company puts you in the shoes of the main antagonist, Jonas Zimmermann, when he was just a guy on the front lines. Oddly enough, he was sent to find a vaccine for the mysterious disease that decimated troops and crippled battalions at the Western Front during WWI. This game is a straight forward shooter that requires you to mow down hordes of zombies. Lucky for you, there is a vast array of World War I weaponry at your fingertips.

You can use all of the original weaponry from the original game in addition to six new weapons. There are also some special vampiric weapons, like the ShadowHand, available to you. This is an exciting weapon that requires adrenaline to work. Adrenaline is earned by performing combos on enemies and the like. If you really want to spice things up, make sure you have beaten the corresponding challenge and unlocked any deadly spells before utilizing the ShadowHand.

If you accumulate enough ShadowHand you can use it to resurrect fallen enemies and force them to fight on your side. Additionally, performing combos will grant you other benefits, like a short slowdown of time. This is incredibly beneficial because if you can fill up the Fury meter then you will be able to unleash even more powerful demonic spells. Another integral part of the weaponry is the gas mask. It may obstruct the view, but it will save you once the deadly poison starts spreading.

You will also need to find hidden artifacts through the course of the game or by going into the challenge room, and they call it the challenge room for a reason. It will give you direct access to each individual campaign level that you have already finished. It also contains several additional challenges that unlock after finishing a level in the normal campaign.

Successfully completing these challenges will grant you access to new spells for ShadowHand or will allow you to add a weapon permanently to your inventory. If you can shoot fifty zombies while they are in the air and keep flying corpses from hitting a bridge, then the challenge room may be for you.
